Subject:Shannon's from Flushing, Belmont County, OH

I am trying to help my sister research her husband's family.

His father was William Thomas Shannon (born 4/22/1904 in Belmont County, OH - died 9/9/1964 St. Mary's, Pleasant County, WV). .
William Thomas' first marriage- Celia Roy 3/17/32 in Moundsville, Marshall County, WV
William Thomas' second marriage - Nancy Ellen "Ellie" Maze 4/23/37 in Richie County, WV (4 children are from this marriage)

Other facts -

Somewhere in my research I noted that there was a strong possibility that William Thomas Shannon's parents may be Charles Shannnon and Bertha Sizemore I've gone back to look for this but haven't found it.

William Thomas' first marriage to Celia Roy in Marshall County, WV has him living in Flushing, Belmont County, OH

The death certificate (d. Nov. 28, 1950) of a Charles E. Shannon (b. may 31, 1908) from Flushing, OH says his parents were Alfred Shannon and Elizabeth (Amos?)
probably not the parents of William Thomas so possibly a cousin??

I found a Charles A. Shannon whose 2nd marriage to a widow Lizzie Shannon (both from Flushing, OH) marriage Nov 6, 1926 Wheeling, WV
could this be the Elizabeth who was previously married to Alfred?

most of my info was found through the archives at www.wvculture.org

Are you aware of any family trees that connect any of these names or have ties to Flushing, Belmont County, OH?

Thanks for any help,
M. Pace

I am searching for information on the family of William McGowan Shannon. He was born in 1765. I have not been able to document his birthplace or much else about him. I believe he was born in America and his parents came to this country from Ireland in the early 1700s. His son Alexander was my great great grandfather. He was born in Kentucky in 1799 and married Clarissa Curtner in 1827 in Mercer County Kentucky. They are documented in Indiana in the 1830s and in Wisconsin in the 1840s. Alexander died in Richland County Wisconsin March 20, 1886. I have well documented history on the family from Alexander onward but I've hit a wall with information on William and the early family history. Any information or direction would be helpful.
